Apprenticeships:
Apprenticeship Programmes
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships give you the chance to gain a nationally recognised qualification and let you earn money at the same time. You can gain the practical experience you need with an employer and attend college for the qualifications.
Who can do apprenticeships?
Anybody can be an apprentice with no age barrier. There are different levels of apprenticeship - pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship. Whichever level is right for you will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience.
What is covered in an apprenticeship?
All apprentices give you the chance to complete an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) Level 2 or 3, key skills qualifications and where appropriate, a technical certificate e.g. City & Guilds, BTec etc. Advanced apprenticeships can be used as a springboard to a Foundation degree, higher education etc.
Why choose an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start your career and it's much more than a job. You get paid, you get hands on experience and you work towards a qualification in an area that you enjoy.
