We understand that it can be hard to fit in learning around family and work commitments, that's why our courses allow you to learn at a time and place to suit you. You can learn from home, work or wherever you have access to the internet. And it might not even cost you anything, as in many cases funding is available to help.

Certificates in Maths and English

Certificates in Maths and English can lead to a qualification. The first step is to look at your goals, and alongside friendly staff at the College's learndirect centre, decide which course is best for you.

To gain a qualification you will need to complete an assessment, but this doesn't necessarily mean a written exam - it could be an online test taken using a computer or even a practical work-based project.

Many learndirect courses now include features to help you practise and prepare for assessments, so you can build your confidence before you take the test. Staff are also available to help you throughout your course, so they can support you in any areas you struggle with. Only when you're ready do you take the test.

Computing & ICT

There are a number of different ways you can get an IT qualification, so we advise speaking to our learndirect staff to discuss your needs and goals. The ITQ Planner course will help you choose what to learn, depending on the IT skills you need to do your job more effectively. You can cover everything from word processing, spreadsheets, email and the Internet to wider issues such as IT Security and IT Maintenance.
