Four college students have been crowned the best golf team in the North East at the recent British College Sport regional competition, with two of the four progressing to the National Finals in Bath later this month.

The team of four; Robby Bailey, Matthew Davison, Connor Taylor and Tom Nicholson, are part of the colleges golf academy. The academy, delivered in partnership with Seaton Carew Golf Club, provides the golfers with 9 hours of coaching expertise from Seaton's resident PGA professionals, Cliff Jackson and Jeff Musgrove.

Cliff said of the success, "The team have worked hard on their game through, what has been, a terrible winter for golf. However it's that dedication and desire that is really benefitting their game now as we enter the competition stages of the season."

Robby Bailey and Matthew Davison finished 1st and 2nd respectively earning the place to the BCS National final in Bath later his month. Robby said, "I had a great round on the day, all of the lads did, and it's great to win both the individual and team awards in our first year together. Cliff and Jeff are really challenging us to improve so I hope we can repeat, or better, this succession the future."
