Chefs Go to the Fair!!
Four Hospitality Studies students from Hartlepool College of Further Education, Steph Longstaffe, Abbey Wright, Jonothan Conroy and Stephen Shepherd are busily planning and practising their culinary skills to produce menu dishes to showcase at the Annual Expo Trade Fair at Hamburg in Germany.
The students have been invited by Doris Pudwill – Lehman, the European Coordinator of the Hotelfachschule, to visit Hamburg this month, attend classes at the renowned Hospitality & Catering College, Gewerbeschule Gastronomie, and to prepare and cook their showcase dishes for the restaurant that is purpose-built for the Expo fair.
Paul Wilson, Management Forum Coordinator at Hartlepool College who is travelling with the group commented, “This is a great opportunity for the students to be invited to demonstrate their skills and expertise to the international audience at this prestigious event.”
Looking forward to next year there will be a return visit to Hartlepool by a group of German students to experience true Northern hospitality.
