Last week, saw Catcote Academy students take over The Flagship Restaurant assisted by the HCFE Hospitality and Catering students. Catcote planned a 3-course menu, which included a Champagne reception on arrival. Students prepared and cooked the meals for 65 guests who were impressed by the standards of hospitality service and food that was served.
Angela Jeffries from Catcote Academy said, “The event gave the students an opportunity to work in a realistic working industry environment which was absolutely amazing.”
Kevin Dove, Lecturer at HCFE said “The opportunity to work with another school to provide an insight into the world of hospitality and catering was so exciting. The students who already study hospitality and catering left college on the day feeling so proud of the part they played in making this event successful with Catcote students. Working with local schools is something that we do well and we intend to run this event again with Catcote and also hope more schools will get involved with this.”
