Core Domestic Gas Refresher Assessment can be taken up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the existing qualification without losing out (MOT style). Previous certificates must be presented to the centre as evidence of holding an existing qualification.
This assessment takes the form of both written and practical exams covering the following:-
Gas safety regulations, Building Regulations, British Standards and other related legislation; Unsafe situations and emergency actions; Gas pipework (including sizing, installation, defects and faults; Tightness testing and purging (covers both low pressure and medium pressure installations); Checking meter regulator; Emergency control values; Appliance burner pressures and gas rates; Flues and ventilation; Combustion; Combustion Performance Analysis (Flue gas testing); Appliance controls
