This course is designed for welders, operators, line inspectors and foreman who carry out the visual examination of welded joints. It is also suitable for welding quality control staff.
It is recommended that candidates have at least 6 months welding related engineering experience and 2 years experience in industry. (Candidates will have to submit a CV.)
The course content consists of learning visual inspection procedures, relevant codes of practice and terms and definitions. The delegate will also learn about welding processes and defects, weld measurements, practical inspection and reporting, and the typical welding inspection documentation and requirements.
Theory and practical - the main objective being to prepare for CSWIP Visual Welding Inspection examination.
At the end of the course, the candidate will be required to carry out a 90 minute visual welding inspection examination (practical) and a multi-choice question paper.
