This course is aimed at learners who want to develop a range of personal and interpersonal skills. The programme offers learners the opportunities to access an appropriate level of learning relevant to prepare them for living and working in the community.
The programme also aims to provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success. Study areas include Catering.
There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking these qualifications.
The programme provides a broad overview and development with Personal Development, Vocational Studies Support, Employability, Literacy and Numeracy, Catering, in order to give an idea of what working in these areas are like.
This qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding with transferable skills including problem solving and gain an overview of skills and knowledge relevant to their chosen sector in work experience or simulated work settings.
The units will be practical in nature and learners will develop their work-based skills throughout the qualification such as self-management, time management, communication and working safely.
Portfolio of assignments
This qualification will allow progression to Level 1/2 qualifications, apprenticeship or skilled employment or to supported employment in subject specific area of interest within vocational studies.
Students will be expected to work in their own time to complete necessary homework and assessment work.
