There are 10 units on the course. They aim to provide an overview of the industry for anyone interested in a career in travel and tourism. It provides a range of career options including travel agency, holiday representatives, cabin crew and planning and participating in an event.
The 10 units are made up of course work assignments which will form a student BTEC portfolio of evidence. Classes will be a mixture of formal theory and practical sessions.
All units are internally assessed through coursework. The exam board will sample units throughout the year.
Students can progress directly into training in a range of opportunities in the industry. They can progress on to the BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Travel & Tourism.
The programme also has a wide range of enrichment activities included, such as cabin crew training, visitor attraction visits and residential opportunities.
