This course is aimed at mature learners (19+) who have an interest within the hair and make-up industry and wish to develop skills within this industry.
No prior hair, beauty or make-up qualifications.
You will develop creative design skills for photographic make-up including how to plan and create different looks using mood boards, research including all aspects of make-up application techniques, products and equipment.
You will also develop the creative skill of styling, dressing, pinning-up and finishing the hair, including the use of all tools, products and equipment.
These units will also include client care, health and safety and how to provide aftercare advice to clients.
You will carry out practical activities within the salon, observe demonstrations and undertake written assignments.
You will be assessed on your knowledge and understanding of the
hairdressing unit by sitting 1 exam. You will also be expected to supply your
own clients for practice and assessment purpose. Assessment methods include:
