The course is intended for people entering the building services industry as a plumber, either as a school leaver or a mature student. This course will provide the student with a sound understanding of both theory and practical skills in the plumbing industry.
GCSE grade 4 is desirable.
To enable students to gather evidence of work it is essential for them to work within the industry.
You will cover the following subjects:
- Cold water supply
- Hot water supply
- Central heating
- Lead flashing
- Key skills
Students will be taught in both theory and practical sessions throughout the programme.
Assessment will be offered when the student is confident that he/she is ready. Assessment covers practical and theoretical areas of the course plus evidence of work completed in the work place.
On completion of the Level 2 course the successful student can progress onto the Level 3 Plumbing & Heating course.
There is an expectation that learners will have good time management skills and work in their own time to complete the necessary reading, research and assessment work to be successful on this qualification. Learners will have the opportunity to participate in educational and/or residential visits.
