Target audience 

The Level 2 City and Guilds Diploma in Maintenance Operations is suitable for you, if you are 16+ and would like to work within the construction industry as a maintenance operative. This diploma is suitable for you to work alongside an NVQ in maintenance operations.

Entry requirements 

Candidates will usually have achieved grade 2 or above in at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English, Maths and Level 1 Information Communications Technology. Learners can have direct access on to this programme of study or progress from Level 1 or 2 craft occupation.

Course content 

Units can include areas from:

  • Carry out small-scale building repairs
  • Carry out small-scale painting and decorating repairs
  • Carry out small-scale plastering repairs
  • Carry out small-scale plumbing repairs
  • Carry out carpentry repairs

 

Teaching & Learning 

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:  Use this as a platform to further your career in construction and the built environment at either caretaker, maintenance operations within a large multi-disciplined organisation or local authority.  You will complete assignments of which may take the following form:
