There are 12 units on the course. They aim to provide an overview of the industry for anyone interested in a career in travel and tourism. It provides a range of career options including travel agency, holiday representatives, cruise line and customer service roles.
The 12 units are made up of course work assignments which will form a student BTEC portfolio of evidence along with external assessment. Classes will be a mixture of formal theory and practical sessions.
Ten units are internally assessed through coursework. Two units are externally assessed with an exam. The exam board will sample units throughout the year.
Students can progress directly into training in a range of opportunities in the industry. They can also progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism (& Cabin Crew).
The programme also has a wide range of enrichment activities included, such as cabin crew training, visitor attraction visits and residential opportunities.
