This qualification gives learners the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately. It will be a useful progression route for those interesed in furthering their study or widening their work role.
Applicants will be invited to attend an interview.
Learners will complete the following units;
- Using Counselling Skills
- Introduction to Counselling Theories
- Diversity and Ethics in the use of Counselling Skills
- Counselling Skills and Personal Development
All teaching and learning will take place on site at HCFE. Learners will have access to relevant resources/learning materials
Learners will be required to build a portfolio of evidence. Assessment will consist of assignments, presentations, observed skills practice, Q & A and work sheets
Successful students can progress onto the Level 3 Counselling Skills qualification.
There is an expectation that students will work in their own time to complete the necessary reading, homework and assessment tasks. Please think carefully before undertaking a course of this nature as it is demanding and students will need to consider their work, family and other commitments.
