This course is aimed at those learners who have an interest in the beauty therapy industry
Entry requirements
- GCSE grade 4 in Maths, English and Science
- Demonstrate a good level of communication
- Have a good level of personal presentation
Course content
In this Certificate you will develop essential knowledge and understanding in:
- personal presentation
- health and safety
- client care and communication
- tanning
- skincare
- eye treatments
- make-up applicatons
Teaching & Learning
The course is delivered using powerpoint presentations, practical demonstrations, group discussions, assignments and exams
Assessment criteria
Ongoing throughout the year and will consist of peer and tutor assessments, self-assessments, practical assessments and on-line exams
Progression
On successful completion of this course, students can progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Massage course
Other information
- all learners will be expected to comply with the industry code of practice for salon dress - a salon uniform is compulsory
- 100% attendance to all lessons is required
- learners will be expected to have their own relatives/friends to practice on and complete assessments
