Target audience 

A part time day release course designed for those wanting to pursue a professional career, perhaps attending university in order to gain a degree in Architecture/Design, Building Construction, Building Maintenance, Civil Engineering Construction, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying.

Entry requirements 

Ideally employed within the industry, 4 GCSEs at grade A* - C, a relevant trade craft qualification (NVQ L3) and/or experience and a successful interview.

Assessment criteria 

Learners will complete coursework, research, written reports, presentations, test papers and practical exercises dependent upon the unit content as part of the assessment process.

Progression 

Learners can progress into employment and/or further and higher qualifications such as Higher National Certificate in Building Studies. Learners can also progress on to degree level programmes at university.

Other information 

There is an expectation that learners will have good time management skills and work in their own time to complete the necessary reading, research and assessment work to be successful on this qualification. Learners will have the opportunity to participate in educational and/or residential visits.

You are able to apply online for all courses, however to complete your course enrolment fully, you will need to have an interview and then be accepted onto a course. The only courses available to enrol online are Full Cost courses, if you wish to enrol on any other course please call into Student Services or call 01429 295000.
