They aim to provide an overview of the industry for anyone interested in a career in travel and tourism. It provides a range of career options including travel agency, holiday representatives, cabin crew, cruise line and customer service roles.
The 18 units are made up of course work assignments which will form a student BTEC portfolio of evidence. Classes will be a mixture of formal theory and practical sessions.
All 18 units are internally assessed through coursework. The exam board will sample units throughout the year.
Students can progress directly into training in a range of opportunities in the industry. They can also progress into higher education.
The programme also has a wide range of enrichment activities included, such as cabin crew training, visitor attraction visits and residential opportunities. There are opportunities for work placements in local travel and tourism providers.
