The NCFE Diploma in Skills for Business couse is aimed at post-16 learners who wish to pursue a
career in business. The qualification aims to provide a wide-ranging study of the sector.
Students are required to have 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above including English and Mathematics
You will cover the following units over the duration of the course. This qualification gives learners experience of breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training. The course is taught by well qualified and experienced staff with a background in business. You will learn through
case studies, group work and presentations before completing assignments that are based on realistic workplace
situations. You will experience the world of work within the business sector through mandatory work experience.
All units are assignment based and will be assessed through a variety of methods such as written assignments, presentations, role plays and team activities. An overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction
is then awarded.
The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting
admission requirements to many relevant courses. After this qualification, learners can progress directly into
employment, however it is likely that many will do so via higher study or apprenticeship.
