Designed for those with some experience of using digital devices and the internet but lacking secure basic digital skills.
No formal entry requirements
The qualifications cover 5 subject areas, which are central to the use of digital systems/technology both at home and in the work place. Learners will develop their skills to achieve level 1 competency

Communicating
Transacting
Being safe and responsible online
Teaching and Learning is flexible days and carried out in college, some
tasks will also be set as homework to be completed away from class. This
qualification may also be offered alongside a vocationally relevant introductory
course to develop a candidates Essential Digital Skills for their chosen
sector.
Task based assessments are used to assess students understanding along with a question paper.
Learners may wish to progress onto the L2 Information and Creative Technology ( ICT) qualification
