Adults with some prior knowledge of Programming and/or coding for example successful completion of a L1 Award in Programming
Entry requirements
Prospective students will be invited to an interview with a member of the course team. Students should be able to describe their current knowledge of the subject area and/or provide a relevant qualification at L1
Course content
This qualification will give students an introduction to coding within the digital sector. The objectives of this qualification are to enable the learner to gain an understanding of:
- principles of coding
- the stages of the software development cycle
- coding terminology and the key principles of writing code
- different coding types
- best practices in coding
- methods of testing and the DevOps process
- effective communication and project management coding
Teaching & Learning
The course will be delivered in class based sessions where students can access computer hard and soft ware to practice taught skills
