Applying to Higher Education

Thinking about Higher Education?

No matter what subject you take, you'll have lots of career options with a higher education qualification as companies value graduate-level skills. Recent research from the Skills Sector Councils has even estimated that if you hold a HE qualification, your chances of unemployment could be halved. But a HE qualification isn't a ticket to a guaranteed job and there are both money and time aspects to consider when taking on more studies. If you are unsure about Higher Education or just want someone to help you explore your options, you can discuss your options with an adviser in college. Just book via Student Services.

To start exploring HE courses you can research University websites or explore UCAS. UCAS is the University and College Admissions Service where you can search for all HE courses in the UK.
We would also recommend attending university open days to see facilities first-hand and to speak with academic and support staff. We offer trips to local Universities in October for Level 3 and Access to HE students. There is also a HE Fair every year in college where a range of Universities will be present to help you explore your options.
HE staff will also be embedded into various student events throughout your studies to ensure you are as informed as possible about higher education. Speaking to University staff about aspects such as accommodation, course content, finance and more can really help you decide on your future and our success rates of over 90% ensure our support can help you secure a place in higher education.

For more advice and support visit Student Services first-hand, contact us, call us on 01429 295000 or if you are an Access student search for HCFE Access Students on Facebook for guidance and support. You can also find information and what we are up to via our Twitter page:
