Georgina Hutchinson in the kitchen

Award Winning Trainee Chef finds 'Safe Haven'

Georgia Hutchinson, a talented trainee chef with autism has found her passion in the kitchen. Despite daily challenges, Georgia has excelled here at Hartlepool College, impressing judges with her culinary skills. Georgia's hard work and dedication have earned her a place in the grand final of Major's Chef's Culinary Challenge, where she will compete in front of around 3,000 spectators at the international ExCel Centre in March this year.

Our next Open Event

We are delighted as Spring begins to invite you to our second Open Event of 2023 to be held on Wednesday 22nd March between 5 pm - 7 pm. During the event, we will give you access to all areas of the college with lots of have-a-go sessions, guided tours, and expert advice. So if you are a school leaver, aged 15 to 18 and still unsure of your options in 2023, or 19+ and want to get back into education or learn something new, this is the ideal event.

THE BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST, YET!

This year’s Big Apprenticeship Event at Hartlepool College of Further Education marked the 11th year in a row that the College has held an Open Apprenticeship event. This year saw 73 exhibitors sign up for the event to give expert information, advice and guidance on apprenticeships within their organisations and the sectors they operate in. As always with this flagship event, 2000 visitors walked through the College’s doors to speak to those organisations in attendance.
