Target audience
This qualification is targeted at First Aiders in lower-risk work environments. This qualification is specifically for those individuals who are to become an Emergency First-Aider in the workplace.
Entry requirements
Self-certified as fit to perform physical requirements
Course content
- The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- Use of a First Aid kit
- Minimise infection
- Assessing an emergency situation safely and priority of treatment
- Conduct a Primary survey
- Unconscious casualty
- Place casualty in Safe Airway Position
- CPR and AED
- administering first aid to a choking casualty
- dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries
Teaching & Learning
Taught by qualified First-Aiders instructors with real life experience in performing First Aid
Assessment criteria
Each candidate will be assessed with a practical assessemnt on each topic
Progression
Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
