This course aims to develop both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required by the higher technicians and technician engineers in the manufacturing and mechanical engineering industry. Eight units are required to obtain the HNC.
The normal entry requirement for a HNC programme would be the completion of a National Certificate or Diploma in a similar or related discipline. Students without these qualifications will have their previous experience and qualifications reviewed at interview before entry to the course.

Teaching will be delivered through a series of classroom based lectures and project sessions. The College delivers lectures based upon current developments in the understanding of pedagogy. Lessons apply the College's teaching standards which are based upon evidence informed teaching and learning
Assessment is by a varied mix of in-course assessments, assignments, projects and phase tests
Students who complete the course can top up their qualifications from HNC to HND in Mechanical Engineering by progressing to the HNC in Mechanical Engineering course
