Nikita Cooks Up Competition Success

Hartlepool College of Further Education commis chef apprentice, Nikita Wren, recently scooped a bronze medal in a prestigious competition in London. 

Blazing the Trail

The College celebrated National Apprenticeship Week 2019 with a bang, showcasing the breadth and diversity of apprentices across the college’s outstanding provision.

Hartlepool College remembers

Hartlepool College of Further Education hosted a very special Remembrance Service on Friday 9 November to commemorate those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world. Guests attended the 12th annual service including a rendition of the Last Post and a war-time themed three-course meal in the College’s Flagship restaurant.


Students from the college’s hospitality and catering department are seeing a real growth in their curriculum with the creation of their very own herb garden.

Firefighter Apprenticeship Scheme

Cleveland Fire Brigade is looking for 10 recruits to undertake its new Firefighter Apprenticeship Scheme in an innovative partnership with us.

Civil engineering firm welcomes three new apprentices

A civil engineering specialist has given three students the opportunity to take their first step on the career ladder by taking them on as apprentices. Klaudia Robinson, Sam Shaw and Lewis Hunt have all joined Seymour Civil Engineering as apprentice management trainees.

Sophie's amazing story

Sophie who underwent life-saving surgery after being rushed to the top of the transplant list for a new liver is looking forward to carving out a career here at College which supported her through her ordeal.

Great Apprenticeship Partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council

  In partnership with Hartlepool College. the latest apprentices to be taken on by Hartlepool Council have been welcomed to their new roles at a special event in the Civic Centre. Twenty one new recruits are joining the authority this year, taking the total number of apprentices it employs to 45.

Well done

IT has been a busy day at Hartlepool College of FE with students across the town picking up their GCSE results this morning. We had support staff at all of the secondary schools across Hartlepool and were on hand to pass on advice to students as they opened their envelopes.

The Opening of HCFE Creative - 'Propaganda' Design Show 2016 this summer was a fantastic visual celebration of Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interactive Media, Surface Design, Photography and Computing and IT. Work was on show from our award winning School of Art, Design, Computing & IT.

Flagship deal between college and Hartlepool United

Hartlepool College of Further Education’s The Flagship restaurant’s team of chefs, backed up by catering students, are transferred their skills to Victoria Park after the college signed a deal to look after the corporate hospitality for Pools.

College plays host to high profile event

We were delighted to play host to a Technology Day put on by JDR Cables. The cables specialist, which supplies products to a number of industries from its base on Hartlepool’s dockland, invited around 30 customers and representatives from businesses on its supply chain to the College to showcase its latest product.

We are No 2 in the UK for Apprenticeships

Great news!, we are at number two in the national apprenticeship provider rankings, so not only the 2nd biggest provider of  Apprentices for 16-18 year olds in the north east, we are now the best at success rate and coming 5 places above our position of 7th last year.
