Hartlepool College of Further Education hosted a very special Remembrance Service on Friday 9 November to commemorate those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world. Guests attended the 12th annual service including a rendition of the Last Post and a war-time themed three-course meal in the College’s Flagship restaurant.
A civil engineering specialist has given three students the opportunity to take their first step on the career ladder by taking them on as apprentices. Klaudia Robinson, Sam Shaw and Lewis Hunt have all joined Seymour Civil Engineering as apprentice management trainees.
Sophie who underwent life-saving surgery after being rushed to the top of the transplant list for a new liver is looking forward to carving out a career here at College which supported her through her ordeal.
In partnership with Hartlepool College. the latest apprentices to be taken on by Hartlepool Council have been welcomed to their new roles at a special event in the Civic Centre. Twenty one new recruits are joining the authority this year, taking the total number of apprentices it employs to 45.

Hartlepool College of Further Education’s The Flagship restaurant’s team of chefs, backed up by catering students, are transferred their skills to Victoria Park after the college signed a deal to look after the corporate hospitality for Pools.
We were delighted to play host to a Technology Day put on by JDR Cables. The cables specialist, which supplies products to a number of industries from its base on Hartlepool’s dockland, invited around 30 customers and representatives from businesses on its supply chain to the College to showcase its latest product.
Great news!, we are at number two in the national apprenticeship provider rankings, so not only the 2nd biggest provider of Apprentices for 16-18 year olds in the north east, we are now the best at success rate and coming 5 places above our position of 7th last year.
