- GCSE grade 4 in Maths, English and Science
- Demonstrate a good level of communication
- Have a good level of personal presentation
In this Certificate you will develop essential knowledge and understanding in:
- Manicure and Pedicure
- health and safety
- client care and communication
- tanning
- skincare & facials
- eye treatments (including lash lifts)
- make-up applications
The L2 Award in Contact Dermatitis, Gel Polish and Skin Cancer Awareness short course is embedded into this programme. To raise awareness of contact dermatitis within the beauty industry. To develop skills in the application of gel polish using LED lamps. To raise awareness of skin cancer.
The course is delivered using powerpoint presentations, practical demonstrations, group discussions, assignments and exams
Ongoing throughout the year and will consist of peer and tutor assessments, self-assessments, practical assessments and on-line exams
After a successful interview with course tutors, you may be able to progress onto the L3 Beauty Therapy Massage course
- all learners will be expected to comply with the industry code of practice for salon dress - a salon uniform is compulsory
- 100% attendance to all lessons is required
- learners will be expected to have their own relatives/friends to practice on and complete assessments
