The Site Operative Employability Programme is designed to give potential employees the necessary skills to gain employment as general operatives on various industrial sites. The programme will be delivered over three weeks to unemployed clients from the Tees Valley region.
Programme Outline:
Week 1 - Employability Skills
Learners will undertake a Level 1 Certificate in Employability which will prepare them for the job interview and potential employment at the end of the three-week programme.
Week 2 - Health & Safety - General
Learners will undertake a Level 1 Certificate in the Facilities Industry to equip them with the rudimentary skills and awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace.
Week 3 - Safety Passport
Safety Passport Scheme learners will undertake Health & Safety training in order to acquire a recognised site safety certificate to allow them to work on various sites.
The programme will culminate with an interview for potential employment with BMSL. Successful candidates will be employed by BMSL as General Operatives.
The programme will be delivered by staff from Hartlepool College of Further Education and BMSL at a community centre close to the local Job Centre.
