The College’s top performing students were recognised at a glittering awards evening. The College's 25th annual Celebration of Achievement awards ceremony hosted here at the College on Thursday, November 22nd, with a total of 41 students being nominated and 19 overall award winners.
The main award of the evening, Student of the Year 2018, went to Catherine Lollis, who earlier in the evening also scooped the prestigious Gus Robinson Foundation Aerospace Scholarship, an award that has only been won twice in its history. The double-award winning Catherine was recognised for her outstanding academic and practical performance on the aeronautical engineering programme and the positive role model she is for many others in this curriculum area.
The Foundation also sponsored our Apprentice of the year which was won by Oliver Morrill, a student with Hartlepool College since 2014/2015 Academic year, achieving high levels on all his programmes and now studying an HNC in Fabrication and Welding
Golfer Cameron Wallace, who represented the College’s golf academy for the past 3 years, winning many regional and national competitions, returned home from university to pick up the Sporting Achievement award, presented by the chairman of the Gus Robinson foundation and former Principal, Michael Bretherick.
