College Hairdressing Students Highlight Their Talent

Heather, Fay and Samantha ~ Hairdressing Students

Not one, not two, but three of our ace Hairdressing students; Samantha, Heather and Fay will be representing the College in a National Skills Final hosted by the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists this month in Blackpool

Samantha Brewer, who is following a Level 3 hairdressing qualification specifically designed for adult learners, came first in the ladies’ commercial cut and blow-dry competition.  Heather Misseldine and Fay Emery, both level 2 adult learners, were runners-up in their competitions – fantasy hairdressing and ladies’ evening style respectively. And we wish them the best of luck in the finals.

College Hairdressing Lecturer, Nicola Sanderson, commented, “We have high expectations and standards for our hair and beauty students.  A key part of our approach is to enter students into competitions so they can compete against their peers from across the nation.  This is a wonderful achievement and the hard work will continue to ensure the students do their very best in Blackpool."

Darren Hankey, the college’s Principal added, “This is superb news for the three students.  In terms of hairdressing, we have superb staff and wonderful industry-standard facilities.  We push our students hard and this recognition is reward for the students’ hard work and expectations we have of our students.”
