We pride ourselves on being inclusive here at Hartlepool College, so we were delighted last week when we hosted our first Inter-college Inclusive Skills Competition, where students from the Level 1 Diploma in Vocational Studies competed with other learners from Abbey Hill Academy, Catcote Academy and New College Durham.
The competition involved designing and creating a #PowerPoint presentation about being safe online and was judged by two officers from the North East Regional Cyber Crime Unit. And we are super proud that two of our own brilliant learners won at both levels. Cory Morris (pictured bellow) won the Advanced category and Connor Rudd (pictured above), the Intermediate category. Both students have been invited to the Regional Skills Competition Awards on Friday 24th May 2019 at East Durham College.
Event host and HCFE Lecturer Christine Deane said, “It was a privilege to be part of a competition that allows learners to showcase their skills. Every student that participated is a credit to their college and I would like to thank all the learners, staff and judges for helping to make our first inclusive skill’s competition successful”.
Many congratulations to all the students who took part from all the Colleges who took part. View a full gallery of the competition >> https://www.flickr.com/photos/hartlepoolfe/albums/72157708494540254
