Dear student, parent/carer and stakeholder,
First of all, I hope you managed to have a good Christmas and a restful holiday.
In light of the government’s update on 30 December 2020, the information we shared with you before the holidays still guides what we will do for w/c 4 January 2021 – see the link below
It’s important to note that those of you who are expected to sit exams in January – these exams will take place as planned.
Further messages will be communicated with regards to subsequent weeks.
In terms of the roll-out of mass testing; the College will start to look at how we can implement this from as soon as possible. Please bear with us with regards to this – we need to establish this facility within the College, the key processes and ensure we can staff this operation. As you can imagine, this is uite a challenge.
That said, as the last few months have shown us, we are good at meeting challenges. We can be rightly proud that the Covid-19 infection rates for members of our community for weeks commencing 7th & 14th of December were significantly below the town and national averages – see table below
| Cases per 100,000 |
National | 165 |
Local (Hartlepool) | 223 |
HCFE | 25 |
We know that things have moved on since the start of December and we need to be a vigilant as ever as the new year starts.
Pleased be rest assured that your safety and well-being are a key priority and thanks for your continued support.
Kind regards
Darren
