At a time of heightened tensions globally on issues of race, culture, and politics and with pressures on the public sector to do more here in the UK on counter-radicalisation. Hartlepool College of Further Education in partnership with Barry Coppinger, Cleveland Police PCC Office and Amjid Khazir from Media Cultured CIC to deliver ‘Identity & Integration’ which is a resource on ‘promoting social cohesion’.
HCFE is very proud to support National Hate Crime Week 2017 by coming together with Barry Coppinger Cleveland Police PCC Office and Amjid Khazir from Media Cultured CIC to highlight the issues and stand united in our ‘zero tolerance’ towards Hate Crime in today’s society.
Amjid Khazir said "The Media Cultured resource pack is designed to run as a pedagogy around the film 'Combinations' which features a local boxing coach. The workshops and learning materials are designed to create discussion about identity, integration and values allowing participants and young people especially to see the how much they share with a person from a different background. By creating safe spaces for discussion and having these conversations, teachers can help tackle the hateful rhetoric of all forms of extremism.."
