Tony Robins 22, from Hartlepool and ex-High Tunstall School, started his working life at NDC Trust on a work experience placement in his first year of a joinery course [course title] here at Hartlepool College. Tony enjoyed it so much that he continued to volunteer with NDC Trust through his summer holidays and beyond.
Greame Southward, Lecturer at Hartlepool College praising Tony said "Anthony is a conscientious, hard-working student who exhibits a positive outlook and attitude. He is committed to doing his best and takes responsibility for his own learning.
Anthony has continuously worked at an appropriate pace throughout his course and stays on task with little supervision."
Tony has shown real enthusiasm and his real aim was to gain an apprenticeship. asking if there were any apprenticeship opportunities. Tony's dedication and hard work paid off when the NDC Trust started to deliver the Youth Employment Initiative which enabled an opportunity for a Joinery Apprentice.which he applies for and was successful.
Tony, will complete his NVQ Level 3 in Site Carpentry in mid-October 2019 and the NDC Trust are delighted to be able to offer him a full-time post as a Joiner. Chairman of Hartlepool NDC Trust, Malcolm Walker, said:
"We are delighted to offer Tony his first full-time job. In his time with the NDC Trust, he has been the model apprentice. He is always willing to listen and learn, has a great work ethic and fits in really well with the rest of the team. He is an asset to our company."
