There are 12 units on the course. 6 units will be completed each year. They aim to provide an overview of the sport industry with specific units to help understanding of the sports sector. It provides a range of career options including:

The 12 units are made up of course work assignments which will form a student BTEC portfolio of evidence. Classes will be a mixture of formal theory and practical sessions in our tailor-made Gym. You will also have a relevant research project in sport.
All 12 units are internally assessed through coursework. The exam board will sample units throughout the year. The grading criteria is Pass/Merit/Distinction
Most students progress into higher education & university of their choice or can progress directly into training or job in a range of opportunities in the fitness industry.
The programme also has a wide range of enrichment activities included, such as volunteering in the sports industry, visitor attraction residentials at home or abroad. There are opportunities for work placements in local primary schools and sports clubs. Included will be L2 Gym Instructor in Year 1 and L3 Personal Training in Year 2.
