Accounting Technicians are the skilled support staff working in accounting and finance. The role covers a wide range of occupations from Accounts Assistants to Financial Managers in the public sector, industry and commerce as well as accounting practices. The AAT Education and Training Scheme is designed for those who already work in an accounting or financial environment or would like to.
- GCSE Maths and English (4 or above) or equivalent
- AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or equivalent
Students will complete six mandatory units:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting; Costing
- Indirect Tax
- Spreadsheet Software
- Synoptic embeds Professional Ethics
All units are an instant result except the Synoptic and Spreadsheets exams which take six weeks.
On successful completion of AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, students may wish to undertake the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting course.
Students will be required to purchase textbooks as advised by their tutors. There is an expectation that a considerable amount of study will be undertaken in the student's own time. An interview is required to be accepted onto the programme. The membership fees are included in the course cost.
