This qualification meets the needs of learners who work or want to work in a wide range of settings, for example in the roles of:
- Early Years Educator
- Nursery Practitioner
Learners will learn, develop and practise skills required for employment and progression in the Children's Care Sector, progress in their current role or onto further learning or emploment.
Possession of a relevant Level 2 appropriate qualification MATHS AND ENGLISH GCSE GRADE 4 OR ABOVE or FUNCTIONAL SKILLS LEVEL 2.
A DBS police clearance check will be necessasry.
Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) there are a variety of units, mandatory that link to the vocational setting. These include:
- safeguarding
- holistic child development
- communication
- working in partnership with parents and professionals
- plan and implement play opportunities and educational programmes
- children's health and well-being
Candidates will attend college weekly for taught sessions. There will be a variety of teaching methods employed including lecture style, role play, activities, case studies and scenarios relating to early years practice.
The Diploma will guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to Early Learning and Childcare. Learners will develop an in depth understanding and practise skills required for employment and/or progression in the Children's Care Sector.
Assessment will be formative and summative. A variety of assessment methods will be used:
- assignments
- observation in practice
- witness testimonies
- reflection and professional discussions
- longtitudal study
- Level 4 Early Years Advanced Practitioner
- Foundation Degree in Early Years
- Employment
