Yet more brilliant news about our ace students this week. We hosted the Regional Inter-college Inclusive Skills Competition, and what an amazing morning it was for Hartlepool College. Our talented students from the L1 Diploma in Personal and Social Development Skills got to showcase their skills and creativity alongside their peers from Catcote Academy & 6th Form College and Newcastle College. The competition was centered around designing and creating a PowerPoint presentation about being safe online, and it was judged by none other than Kelly Close, Protect and Prepare Officer, Kevin Clark, Detective Sergeant for Cyber Crime, and Detective Constable Stuart Younger, all from Cleveland Police.
And we are delighted that two of our very own HCFE learners, Shakira Zaynab and Ryan Cameron, emerged as winners in two of the categories! Shakira won the Advanced category, while Ryan took home the prize in the Intermediate category. And let's not forget to give a big round of applause to LilliJade Spence from Catcote Academy 6th Form College, who won the Basic category.
The event host and Hartlepool College Lecturer Christine Deane had this to say about the competition: “It is always a privilege to be part of a competition that allows learners to showcase their skills. Every student that participated, and those who supported the competitors, are a credit to their college. I would like to thank all the learners, staff, and judges for helping to make this competition successful.”
We are extremely proud of our students and their achievements. They truly represented Hartlepool College of Further Education in the best possible way. Congratulations to all the participants and winners, and we cannot wait to see what amazing things they will accomplish next!
