Armistice Day marks a special day in the College’s calendar. This year, the College held its 16th annual Remembrance Day service which focused on the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War as well as key statistics related to World War 1.
Staff, Leslie Gilchrist, and Paul McCully, gave two readings, and students – Kim Mellor, Ross Cope, and Mike Ewertowski – read poems related to the two conflicts. Student, Connor Scott, read a wonderful poem about Queen Elizabeth II who sadly passed away earlier in the year.
On the 11th hour on the 11th day, 'The Last Post' / 'Rouse/Kohema' played by lecturer Graeme Fallowfield and resonated across the College’s main atrium and to packed balconies of staff and students, followed by two minutes' silence was respectfully observed.
