On the beat with new Policing course

Aspiring Police Officers will benefit from the latest course to join the curriculum offer at Hartlepool College, the Diploma in Policing. This Level 3 qualification builds upon the highly successful Uniformed Public Services course at the College by offering a bespoke route into the Police force. 

Students will be given all the skills and information that will enable them to progress on to higher education in policing studies, or the policing apprenticeship route. This course will also appeal to students who have an interest in pursuing a career in law, criminology, forensic science, or the criminal justice system.  

Gemma Johnston, Programme Leader, said “We have a long, well-established track record of working with local police constabularies developing their future staff so once NCFE released this course we knew it was perfect for us. In the past many students have progressed into the force as Special Constables, Police Officers and Para-legals and we see that number increasing further as we specialise in the policing route.” 

In addition to the core knowledge and skills acquired through the course, students will be equipped with the practical skills and work experience opportunities to work in the stewarding and security sectors.

In addition to developing a wide range of skills and experiences suitable to employment, this programme supports progression to higher education and carries 180 UCAS points.
