The annual Remembrance Day Service is an integral part of the college's RESPECT campaign and for many years this well attended event has allowed students of all ages to mark their respects amongst Armed Forces veterans.
The Remembrance Day Service changed format this year, and was hosted by RESPECT Team member Gary Kester, who linked the various parts of the service with thought-provoking narratives and anecdotes. To tie in with British Values the theme for the event was the role of the British Armed Forces in standing up to fascism, with a focus on the Second World War to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the 70th of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen. Gary also produced a hard-hitting short film to reflect this theme, which can be viewed online.
