On the eve of National Careers Week, it’s time to celebrate as our Student Support team have once again proved their dedication and commitment to their students by retaining their Matrix Standard accreditation! This international quality standard recognises the delivery of high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services to support individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. And it's all thanks to the amazing work of the Student Support team!
The College’s assessor commended the team for their effective relationships with external specialists, saying that “high quality and current advice and guidance is available to every student”. But the most important feedback came from the students themselves, who were highly complementary when it came to describing the quality of IAG provided to them by the team. They emphasized that the staff go out of their way to help identify options appropriate to their needs, offering a wide range of inclusive sources to support their decision-making.
Head of Student Support, Laura Main, expressed her excitement at the news, saying: “We are thrilled to have retained the Matrix Standard. The team work tirelessly to ensure learners receive impartial, high-quality advice and guidance and I am delighted their efforts have been recognised once again. The individualised support extended to learners is a testament to the team's commitment to learners and the wider College community. We are constantly looking at ways in which we can further improve upon the high-performing IAG already taking place and since our last review, the team have drawn on technology to do this. In doing so we have increased our Student Satisfaction levels, further emphasising the effectiveness of the services we provide. I feel very proud to be part of such a hard-working and committed team.”
So a massive well done to our amazing Student Support team for their dedication to helping students achieve their goals.
