Exciting news! we have pledged our commitment to support the upcoming Tall Ships visit to our town of Hartlepool to ensure it's a success. As the lead educational partner for the event, we will offer our resources, access to student volunteers, and office support to the organising committee. TOur Assistant Principal, Shaun Hope, expressed his excitement about being the first educational institution to pledge support for the event and is coordinating discussions with other schools and colleges to explain what the Tall Ships' visit means for education.

In an interview, Shaun Hope said, "We are working together on joint marketing projects to assist in preparing this town for an incredible event on an international level - fantastic for the whole of the Tees Valley and the North-East. There will be a series of events and activities going on that, as an educational partner, we will be heavily involved in and we will also sponsor the learning zone too."

Our Stockton Street site's car park will be utilised during the event, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors between July 6 and July 9 this year. Hartlepool Borough Council hopes that more educational institutions will join in to help with the event, and the council's assistant director for preventative and community-based services, Gemma Ptak, expressed her appreciation for the college's support.

Gemma Ptak also mentioned, "The contribution from Hartlepool College of their offer in kind will support us to successfully deliver the event. The College will be engaging, learning about further opportunities, and opening resources and infrastructure to Hartlepool Borough Council and the Tall Ships organizing committee to help us achieve our goals."

The Tall Ships Race is one of the biggest access events in the UK, and Hartlepool has the most ships signed up of any host port in the 2023 Race. The Council's assistant director for preventative and community-based services, Gemma, said, "The Tall Ships Race is one of the biggest access events in the UK and the largest free event to be held in England this year. We have the most ships signed up of any host port in the 2023 Race and that shows everyone wants to come to Hartlepool because of what it offers."
